Big volcanic activity on the island of Saint Vincent in the West Indies. Indeed, the Soufrière of Saint-Vincent has just erupted, emitting large quantities of volcanic ash. A new dome of relatively viscous lava had recently appeared. The volcano was therefore already well monitored by volcanologists.
The local authorities were forced to evacuate people from the north of the island where the volcano is located.
The island of Saint Vincent is located in the Lesser Antilles arc south of the island of Martinique.
